Wood and George Burdick, senior president of WSGA, informed the senate of their IgniteU initiative, which is dedicated to building “more effective and influential energy” for leaders in student organizations. The program will consist of multi part leadership training series throughout the academic year.
“It’s really geared towards giving people the leadership skills that they need to have an organization and really reach their full potential,” Burdick said.
The first session was Friday, Sept. 13 from 5:30-7 p.m. in Henderson 100. The session discussed the importance of being involved on campus and how impactful leadership skills are in other areas of students’ life. The next session, Self-Discovery, will take place in the same room Sept. 26 from 5:30-7.
The meeting wrapped up with Ichabod of Honor nominations for WSGA, with Trevor Ottman, junior chief of staff, and Colton Cattoor, junior senator, receiving the two nomination positions.
