According to the Topeka Police Department, 21-year-old Zachary Buck-Schrag, a person of interest in the Jan. 14 homicide, turned himself in to the Lawrence Police Department today.

Buck-Schrag was arrested on charges of felony murder, criminal discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Earlier today, TPD shared a photo of Buck-Schrag requesting information from the public and warning that he was likely armed and dangerous.

This comes after the shooting that left one man dead in the early hours of Jan. 14. The victim has been identified by TPD as 37-year-old Travis Larsen of Topeka.

The shooting occurred in the area of 22nd Park and Mulvane and put Washburn’s campus on lock-down for just under an hour with three separate messages sent to students, faculty and staff through the iAlert messaging system.
