Terrell and Gould receive additional All-American honors
Ichabod senior-to-be Fletcher Terrell and former Ichabod linebacker Grant Gould each received All-American honors by the Don Hansen Football Gazette.
Terrell, a defensive back for the Ichabods, received first team All-American honors. Terrell led the MIAA in interceptions (8 — 0.67 per game) and kickoff return average (30.8 ypr), and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, including one for an MIAA record-tying 100 yards. Terrell was also a first team All-American Daktronics pick.
Gould, a linebacker, received second team All-American honors. Gould finished second in the MIAA in tackles last season with 10.7 per game and finished his career as the Ichabod’s all-time leading tackler.
The Ichabods won their first MIAA Championship and qualified for the NCAA playoffs for the first time in school history, finishing No. 13 in the final AFCA national poll with a 9-3 overall record.

Washburn announces 2006 spring golf schedule
Doug Hamilton, Washburn golf coach, unveiled the 2006 Ichabod golf schedule, which is what the three-time MIAA Coach of the Year calls the toughest one in school history.
“Undoubtedly, it is the most aggressive schedule this golf program has ever put together,” said Hamilton.
The Ichabods will travel to both the East and West Coast, with a stop along the way in Alabama, to compete in premier Division II tournaments. Along with trying to win a fourth straight crown in a highly competitive conference, the Ichabods will face almost every team that is nationally ranked in the top 20 by Golfstat.
“We want to put ourselves to the test. You never really know how good you are until you throw your hat in the ring with the top programs in the country,” said Hamilton.
The Ichabods are quickly becoming recognized as one of those programs, having made three consecutive trips to the D-II national tournament by winning the Central Regional title each of the last three years. The Ichabods finished with a school best 10th place at the national tournament last year.
During the fall season the Ichabods captured two team titles and moved up to a highest ever No. 10 national ranking on the Golfstat Poll. The schedule is highlighted by the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by Barry University in Miami, the North Alabama Golf Classic in Muscle Shoals, Ala. and the Buzzini Invitational hosted by Cal State Stanislaus, Turlock, Calif.
