  • Gabriel Hardman, a sophomore Economic and Public administration major, “I feel like it’s a win for the working class and especially black Americans, but I feel like it will damage trust in the legal system.”

  • Maddie Ray, a sophomore Accounting major, “I don’t think it was incorrect I am sort of surprised that they did convict him on all three counts. Regardless of that though, I think this is a really good starting point in terms of social justice and that from here we will be able to make more progress.”

  • Dylan Grospitch, a freshman Sociology major “I was very happy. I was pacing around work waiting for them to tell the verdict.”

  • Megan Cushing, a freshman Elementary Education major, “I think it was well deserved, and I was glad there was something that was actually done about it because a lot of times nothing is done. There was finally legal action and that was a step in the right direction.”

  • Andrew Coe, a freshman majoring in Public Administration, “You know I wasn’t surprised because it was unanimous, and it was really fast. Guilty was probably the most reasonable because there wasn’t any argument there.”

  • Megan Dorantes, a sophomore Public Administration major, “I waited for an hour and thirty minutes and the entire time it was just stress and anxiety, my tears were ready to go. After they made their verdict, an entire weight just fell off.”
