Three hours of undergraduate credit will be given to persons registering for a television class in physics, Washburn officials decided last Wednesday.

The class will be “Topics in College Physics.” It began yesterday and will continue through February 6, WDAF-TV, channel 4, will carry the program Monday through Friday at 6:30 a.m.

Dr. Stanley Alexander, professor of physics and astronomy, will be co-ordinator for the class in Topeka. The class will be taught by Dr. Harvey E. White, professor of physics at the University of California.

Dr. Alexander will meet with persons enrolled for credit in the class four times during the semester for discussions, laboratory experiments, and tests.

“Introduction to Atomic Physics” will be offered by television in the second semester.

Registration for the course is $25 a semester for residents of Topeka. Non residents pay $28 a semester, James Young, director of the Evening College said.

Persons interested in the program but who do not want to enroll for credit may purchase an outline of the lesson topic and synopsis of the lectures for a nominal fee.

Credit and audit registrations will be accepted at the Evening College office until October 20, Young said.

The National Broadcasting Company is presenting the classes on a national television hook-up.
