Local library engages community through events

Joelle Conway

The Topeka Shawnee County Public Library has lots of events for all age groups this summer. Most of the events are free and open to the public.

Events include: exhibits, movie showings, technology classes, writing groups, reading to dogs and book clubs. There are also many activities for babies and children, such as Toddler Time, Baby Bookworms, make and take crafts, children movie showings and more. From informational discussions to craft groups to story time, there is something every person can enjoy at the local library.

There are certain events that require registration. On the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library’s website in the ‘events’ page, the pre-register events are marked accordingly. On this page, you may also search for events by audience age, date and type. The library also features a program suggestion tab for community members on the ‘events’ page.

At the following link, people may subscribe to their bi-weekly newsletter to learn about the latest events: https://tscpl.org/news/email-newsletter/.
