Ghost Tours of Kansas: Downtown Topeka, July 24 at 7 p.m.

This is a walking tour offered at limited times. This particular tour is of buildings in downtown Topeka with a haunting past. The cost is $10 per person. Patrons are highly encouraged to bring a camera or reorder to document sightings.

Ice Cream with a Cop, July 26 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Topeka Police Department will be hosting a community meet-up at the 17th and Medford Dairy Queen. The first 150 cones are provided by Topeka Police Department. 

Topeka Scavenger Hunt by Let’s Roam

This is an app-led scavenger hunt of Topeka that can be done at any day and any time. The scavenger hunt is self-guided, with the help of the app. It will show you the best sights and hidden gems within the city. Simply purchase a ticket for a scavenger hunt adventure of Topeka, KS, on their website: https://store.letsroam.com. A one day pass costs $24.95. Multiple people can participate with the purchase of one ticket. There are a variety of packages to choose from, as well. Let’s Roam has locations in over 200 cities. The tickets work at any location and are valid for two years. 

Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library events

TSCPL hosts public events every day for all ages. There are free, informational classes, story time, exhibits, discussions and book clubs. Check out the list of their events on the TSCPL website.

2019 Shawnee County Fair, July 25-28

The Shawnee County Fair is held at Storming Vail Events Center in Topeka, KS. This public event is open Thursday July 25 through Saturday July 27 at 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., as well as Sunday July 28 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are exhibits, vendors and food trucks all four days. Friday and Saturday has addition activities like a petting zoo, scavenger hunt, zoo presentations, Porubsky’s Pickle Eating Contest, tractor pulls, Helping Hands Mobile Adoption unit, Land of Oz Pageant, and more. Rock & Food Trucks Festival, July 27 at 3:30 p.m.

The Rock & Food Trucks Concert will have four different acts, ranging from 4 to 8 p.m. There are 18 food trucks signed up for the festival. Food trucks start serving at 3:30 p.m. Dogs are welcome. Entry is free. Learn more here

Kansas Ballet presents: ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ July 27 at 7 p.m.

The Kansas Ballet will perform ‘The Wizard of Oz’ at the Topeka Performing Arts Center. It costs $15 for adults and $12 for children. All proceeds go toward Kansas Ballet’s outreach programs for USD 501 and Boys and Girls Clubs of Topeka. Tickets may be purchased here
