Toys for Tots drive taking place at Washburn University
December 3, 2009
TOPEKA – Are you looking forward to the holidays? Topeka’s needy children deserve a happy holiday, too, and you can help bring joy into their lives this holiday season by donating a toy.
Washburn University students, faculty and staff have the opportunity to support the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign by bringing new and unwrapped toys to campus before 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10. This year’s donation goal is 400 toys.
Every toy donated will go to a deserving child in the Topeka area. Gifts are needed for both girls and boys from newborn to 18 years old. Donation bins are located in the following places on campus: admissions office, Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center, Bookstore, business office, Ichabod Service Center, School of Law library, Living Learning Center lobby, student life office, Student Recreation and Wellness Center, and Washburn Village.
By shopping at the Washburn Bookstore patrons may receive 25 percent off any donated gift item for Toys for Tots purchased at the Bookstore and put in their donation box (excludes text books).
If you don’t have time to shop and prefer to simply write a check instead, please make it out to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and drop it off at the admissions office. No gift is too small.
