RoadRunners to broadcast games, coach’s show live on Country Legends 106.9
August 27, 2010
The Topeka RoadRunners are making the upgrade to internet radio with Country Legends 106.9 and will be streaming all of their home, away games, and coach’s show live.
The RoadRunners and Country Legends have had a strong relationship throughout last season. Team owner Don Stone decided to make this move to benefit fans from all areas. The station’s website will have a user friendly link on their homepage for fans to click and get easy access to all games live. The website will even feature an archive area where past games will be available for fans to listen to.
“Internet radio is becoming a very popular form of entertainment and I feel that this move will not only be of advantage to the fans we have outside of Topeka, but our local fans as well,” team owner Don Stone says, “I think it is a great way for our RoadRunner family from all around to get a reliable feed into every one of our games.”
The RoadRunners will be hitting the ice for their first set of exhibition games over their 2nd Annual Alumni Weekend over Labor Day Weekend. Arch Ecker, the Voice of the RoadRunners, will kick off his fifth year of broadcasting for the team. These games will be the first to be streamed followed by the two preseason games in Overland Park leading up to the season opening Showcase Tournament in Blaine, Minn.
Country Legends 106.9 general manager Jim Allan is eager to get started, “We have watched from the sidelines and saw Don Stone and his staff rebuild the momentum and spirit of hockey in Northeast Kansas. Technology and radio are merging together and this is a step our station can’t wait to take to put the two hot brands together.”
