Former Kansas governor to speak at Washburn

John W. Carlin, Kansas Governor 1979-87 and Executive-in-Residence in political science at Kansas Sate University, will present “Kansas at 150: What Looking at the Past Can Tell Us About Moving Forward” at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, in room 208 of Henderson Learning Resources Center on the Washburn University campus.
Carlin will share his historical perspective in the evaluation of the Kansas sesquicentennial, drawing upon his service as the Archivist of the United States for the National Archives and Records Administration from 1995 to 2005.
He was also chairman of the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.
The event is sponsored by The Center for Kansas Studies at Washburn University.
