A new organization for Washburn students kicked off their awareness campaign tonight at a local restaurant.

Top City Live is an idea that came about as a result of one student’s desire to help Washburn students find all that is available in the capital city.

“We just wanted to provide a way for students to connect with all the cool things there are to do here,” said Angel Romero, founder of Top City Live.

The evening was highlighted by a presentation by Think Big Topeka, a partner organization that has a track record of grass roots efforts to collaborate with other community organizations.

“We didn’t really come in with any expectations of tonight,” said Alissa Sheley, member of Think Big Topeka. “Just getting people out is a great thing.”
