WU Queers and Allies organizes ‘Moonlight’ showing, panel discussion
November 15, 2019
“Moonlight,” a film that follows a young man growing up both black and gay in Miami, Florida, will be shown Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. in Henderson 207.
A professor-lead panel discussion will follow the showing of the film. The panelists will feature faculty from various departments on campus.
The Washburn Queers and Allies is sponsoring and has organized the event to help spread awareness of discrimatory issues directed toward the LGBTQ+ community.
“It [“Moonlight”] focuses on the intersectionality of a young man growing up both black and gay,” said Vinyl Anderton, a communications team member for the club, in an email.
The event is free and open to the public.
