Ever wondered if there is life after Washburn? Well apparently there is and the Washburn University Stauffer family prides itself in bringing prominent business executives who double as Washburn alumni back to talk to students and members of the community about their lives, achievements and business.

This year Topeka native, CEO of Papa Murphy’s pizza, the largest take-home pizza chain in the world, and self proclaimed Hawaiian pizza lover, Ken Calwell, will be here at Washburn sharing his knowledge with the community and students for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The first event on at 5:30 p.m. is a student and community seminar in Henderson Learning Resources Center where Calwell will discuss how to “Serve with Purpose” and the importance of making a meaningful difference in the lives of customers, owners and community. 

Wednesday, Calwell will present another student seminar at 10 a.m. in Henderson room 100, where  he will discuss his work at Papa Murphy’s and turning the company into a ‘first choice brand. ‘

From 11:45 a.m. until 1 p.m., a luncheon will be held at the Bradbury Alumni Center, registration required at $30 per person, called “ Strength Through Diversity”. Here, Calwell will discuss the importance of diversity and teamwork.
