TOPEKA – A concert benefitting the 2013 Aaron Douglas Art Fair will take place next Saturday, July 27, 2013 at PT’s at College Hill, Topeka. Jarrod Guth of local band Monk’s Wine will headline the event with an acoustic set. Topeka musician and songwriter Joey Desch will be the opener.

An open mic, drink specials and an art raffle will round out the evening. A $3 admission will be taken at the door, with all proceeds going toward the upcoming art fair.

Organized by the Aaron Douglas Art Fair Executive Committee and the Central Topeka Turnaround Team, the Aaron Douglas Art Fair celebrates the Topeka-native’s life and influence as “the father of African American art” by showcasing diverse and emerging artists from the Topeka area. The 8^th Annual Aaron Douglas Art fair will be held September 21, 2013 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Aaron Douglas Art Park, 12^th and Lane, Topeka.
