UMAPS relocates for Morgan Hall renovation
December 2, 2013
University Mail and Printing Services, which is currently located in Morgan Hall, will be moving due to the renovations of Morgan Hall. UMAPS is working now to relocate the operation after 58 years before the renovation begins in late January.
The design/office employees, Rob and Linda, will move to the I-Card office in the Memorial Union. Rob and Linda will work with students on projects just like they did in Morgan Hall. They will have a new graphic quality printer to produce small jobs and are working on forms that should make the ordering experience easier.
The mailing services will be moving to a remodeled location within Storage Building 1 east of the football field. Packages can be sent from that location and stamps can be purchased there or in the I-Card office. There will still be two mail routes, with some mail stop changes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The digital printing services will be moving to Building A on the Washburn Tech campus where the department will be processing larger digital print jobs and wide format projects. The department has acquired a new larger format printer that is capable of printing materials for outdoor display as well as products for interior display. It may take a day longer for digitally printed projects and three days longer for printed work to be completed. Paper orders will be provided next day.
UMAPS is working hard to provide a smooth transition into the new facilities while providing its services to Washburn. They will have a Christmas open house at 10:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 10.
