Pamela Foster has been hired as the new director of equal opportunity for Washburn University.
She comes to Washburn from Kansas State University, where she served for two years as assistant director of affirmative action before moving to the associate director position in 2003. In these positions, she was involved in intake and resolution actions regarding employment discrimination and harassment complaints and monitored recruitment and hiring procedures to ensure all selection procedures complied with university policy, equal employment opportunity laws and office of federal contract compliance program regulations.
Foster received a master’s degree in business administration and a doctor of philosophy degree in industrial/organizational psychology at Kansas State. She also earned a bachelor of science in education degree at University of Nebraska at Kearney and a bachelor of science in medical technology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
“Pamela has a wealth of experience and will be an asset to the University,” said Farley. “She has demonstrated experience in communicating established policies, procedures and guidelines to employees across the varied cultures on a campus and has documented the ability to investigate and resolve complaints of harassment and discrimination related to civil rights issues.”
