Ellen DeGeneres’ selfie from the 2014 Oscar awards audience has become the most retweeted photo ever. In fact so many viewers rushed to retweet the photo that Twitter was momentarily shut down.

“We just crashed Twitter,” Degeneres announced after receiving notice from Twitter that Twitter history was just made for most re-tweets of a photo.

The photo included Ellen, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Kevin Spacy, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Channing Tatum, Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong and her brother . Ellen originally attempted to take the photo but allowed Cooper to take the phone to get a better shot.

“If only Bradley’s arm was longer. Best photo ever. #oscars” Ellen retweeted with the photo.

Kansans were not only among the re-tweeters of Ellen’s photo but also tweeted about the beautiful tribute to “The Wizard of Oz.”

Singer-songwriter Pink sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” while clips from the ‘The Wizard of Oz’ movie was shown. Later DeGeneres came to the stage dressed like Glenda the witch.

‘The Wizard of Oz,” which was a best picture nominee in 1939, just celebrated it’s 75th anniversary.

“We are delighted to celebrate the birthday of one of the most beloved movies of all time at this year’s Oscars,” Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a press release statement.

Twelve Years a Slave‘ won best picture which seems timely as Black History month was recently celebrated. Director Steve McQueen stumbled with his words as he thanked all those who helped him with the movie.

“Everyone deserves not just to survive but to live. I dedicate this to all the people who have endured slavery,” McQueen said.
