On Sunday, September 7th, 2014 Topeka Police Corporal Jason Harwood was killed in the line of duty while conducting a traffic stop. On Saturday, September 13th, 2014 the funeral procession for Corporal Harwood will pass by the Washburn University campus on 21st Street at approximately 1:00 PM. During the funeral procession 21st Street will be closed to all traffic, including north and south bound cross traffic. Traffic to and from the campus on Saturday afternoon should plan to use an alternative route.
