Lyon County storms Washburn

Devan and Juliette chill out in the Student Media Office.

A group of 36 students from several Lyon County high schools descended upon the Washburn campus at 8:30 a.m..

The Washburn Admissions Office planned a full day for the students.

After a chilly campus tour, the students were divided into groups and met with academic departments across campus.

The students learned one of the truths of college as they had to buy their lunches on campus.

“It was more expensive than I expected,” said Juliette Myers, a freshman at Emporia High School. “But, it was delicious and worth every penny.”
