Scholarship opportunity for single parents

If you are a single parent, the Washburn Women’s Alliance wants you to apply for a scholarship.

Preference for this scholarship is given to undergraduate or graduate single parents (regardless of gender), with dependent children residing with them, who are properly enrolled in at least six credits at Washburn University.

The application must be submitted by Feb. 15, 2015. If you have questions, please contact Jennifer Brown at the Washburn University Foundation by calling 785.670.2752.

Please note, completion of the FAFSA or filing for financial aid through Washburn’s Office of Financial Aid does not constitute an application. You must complete a separate application for the Washburn Women’s Alliance scholarship. Print one, or download one to complete through word processing.

Established in 1995, the Washburn Women’s Alliance endowed scholarship has aimed to support single mothers who may not qualify for typical scholarships. The scholarship now is open to all parents. So far nearly 40 students have received the award. Learn more about the Washburn Women’s Alliance.
