Final Announcement/Information for Spring 2015 Commencement Ceremonies

If you are completing an undergraduate or graduate degree and plan to participate (walk) in the Spring 2015 Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Lee Arena in the Petro Allied Health Center, please be sure to review the following (School of Law candidates should refer to www.washburnlaw.edu/commencement for information). Each ceremony will last approximately 90 minutes.

Students are asked to arrive between 30 to 45 minutes prior to their ceremony and report to Petro 125 to pick up their name card. Ceremony times are:

9:30 a.m. – School of Applied Studies

12:30 p.m. – College of Arts and Sciences

3:30 p.m. – School of Business and School of Nursing

All spring and summer candidates (undergraduates and graduates) must have a completed AND approved Application for Graduation in the University Registrar’s office. You should have received an email giving you clearance to participate in the ceremony and indicating whether or not you are eligible to receive Latin Honors (bachelor’s degrees only). If you have not received an email (to your MyWashburn email account), please contact the University Registrar’s office at [email protected].

Undergraduate candidates – purchase your cap, gown and tassel in the Ichabod Shop by Friday, May 8. Contact the Ichabod Shop if you have any questions – 785.670.2665.

Graduate degree candidates – cap, gown, tassel and hood – you must have pre-ordered your regalia through the Ichabod Shop or online by March 27. If you did not pre-order your regalia, contact the Ichabod Shop at 785.670.2665 (additional shipping charges will apply).

Commencement Ceremony Instructions were mailed on April 11. If you lost or did not receive the instructions, go to www.washburn.edu/commencement, select Spring Ceremonies in the left column, then select Instructions to Spring & Summer 2015 Candidates (PDF) under Important Information in the right column.

PARKING AND SHUTTLE SERVICE – Information regarding parking and shuttle service the day of the ceremonies was sent via email to all candidates for graduation – please share this information with your family and guests. Another email will be sent next Monday, May 11. Information is also posted on at www.washburn.edu/commencement in the right column and on the Spring Ceremonies page.

GRADUATION PHOTO PROOFS – Two (2) pictures will be taken of each graduate – the first will be of the graduate receiving his/her diploma cover, and the second will be a portrait-style photograph as the graduate leaves the stage. Photo samples and instructions for ordering will be provided via email from the photographer.
