Vegas scene hits Washburn during Casino Night

Casino Night was held from 7-10 p.m. on Aug. 15 in the Washburn A/B room on the campus  as part of Welcome Week.

The designated room was decorated to look like a Vegas-type casino. Students, faculty and staff were recommended to dress up in accordance with this theme.

The Washburn A/B room was strewn with gambling tables that featured games such as blackjack, poker and craps. A plinko machine was also present.

Upon entering, students received a red cup containing a single yellow chip. They cashed in the yellow chip to play and then increased or decreased their holdings based on their luck at each table.

Different students, faculty and staff played the role of the dealer at each table. Based on their luck, students migrated from table to table.

Casino Night featured a raffle that consisted of a variety of prizes such as a Schwinn bike, 32-inch LED HDTV, Keurig 2.0, an iPad mini and a gift-card package.

Students also had the opportunity to win snack food and candy prizes by participating in bingo outside the corner store in Memorial Union.
