Brief: “Pride”

Sociology and Anthropology department faculty members invite the student body to their screening of the move “Pride” in Henderson Room 204 on Aug. 26 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Based on a true story, “Pride” is the story of LGBTG rights activists who raised money to help the families that were affected by the British Miners Strike in 1984. The story depicts the mineworkers and LGBTQ activists growing as friends, despite cultural and political differences. In a time where openly gay groups were more openly ostracized, this exceptional group of people rose up to help those in need.

The event is free and, depending on specific instructors, can possibly be used as a WU 101 event requirement.
