Fetter Quartet to perform string concert

Washburn University’s string department from the Music Department will be performing a collection of chamber music at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 16, at White Concert Hall.

The concert will include performances by the Fetter String Quartet, consisting of Zachary Cope on violin, Samantha Silver on violin, Brett Lytle on cello and Ryan Masotto on viola. Doctor Sarah Kim will also perform on violin, as well as Doctor Yu-Fang Chen on violin, Professor Gordon Lewis on double bass, and Mei-Chun Chen on viola.

The concert artists will be performing “Handel-Halvorsen: Passacaglia for Violin and Double Bass,” “Shostakovich: String Quartet No. 1 in C major, Op. 49, movement 1 and 3,” “Chin Ting Chan: Cross-strings for Violin and Viola,” “Prokofiev: Sonata for Two Violins, Op. 56” and “Dvorak: Terzetto, Op. 74.”

Admission to the concert is free, and the string department will also be accepting donations at the event. Funds will go towards their proposed trip to Italy, the host country of the InterHarmony International Music Festival they hope to attend.
