Washburn Student Government Association met this week to discuss and pass bills important to Washburn University. WSGA allotted funds to Bods in PR, Fellowship of Catholic Students, Tribods Productions and What You Were Wearing. Bods in PR requested money in order to cover an event with a keynote speaker. The bill passed with little discussion. The Focus Greek Conference was also passed with little friction from WSGA.

What Were You Wearing requested a student initiative grant to gather money necessary to put on an exhibition on victim blaming and rape culture. The exhibition wants to promote healthier attitudes to such difficult topics.

Tribods Productions sought funding for a short film. The funding would cover insurance for filming equipment, costumes and props, the writer’s guild approval for the script and food for shooting days. Both the student initiative grant and the funding request from Tribods passed swiftly with little debate to be had.
