Welcome to Tequila’s.
This restaurant and service is worthy of a full five stars. This is a favorite Mexican restaurant among the citizens of Topeka, and is located off 520 NW Elm Row, only 4.8 miles from Washburn, and have been at this location for almost 3 years.
This family owned business is a certainly a diamond in the rough, completely tucked away in the back of another building and has been open for over 12 years. Don’t be scared away by the tucked away appearance, as this restaurant is excessively inviting and welcoming. As soon as you enter the doors an instant faint breeze of warming corn tortillas hits you. The walls are bright, and the environment is friendly, Our friendly waitress, Linda Lopez, has been working with this business for 6 years. The life from all the waiters, cooks and customers conversations’ help you feel a sense of privacy in your own conversations. You can expect to be greeted with warm and perfectly salted tortilla chips with salsa while waiting to order, and your chips and drinks kept fresh and refilled.
One plate was called Alambres Monterrey. Alambres translates to ‘wild wires’ and in comparison to shocks and electricity, the name suits the plate. The order consists of five corn tortillas clothed with heavy strips of rib eye, steak, ham, and bacon, grilled onions and sizzling bell peppers, topped with Monterey jack cheese, melted from the heat of the meat decorated with avocado slices, served with a large side of rice and fresh beans.
This restaurant offers vegetarian combos and plates, as their mission statement is, “Bienivenidos!!! With great pleasure, we serve you authentic Mexican foods prepared fresh daily as you would find in our native Mexico. We want our food to be good tasting and healthy for you. Please enjoy our food and hospitality!”
