Football

The Washburn football team defeated the University of Central Missouri 28-21. The Ichabods started hot, scoring 14 points in each of the first two quarters. The mules weren’t far behind, though. They managed to score 21 points in the first half, keeping them within a score. Both teams were shut down offensively in the second half, making the halftime score hold until the clock ran out. This week, the Ichabods will travel to St. Joseph, Missouri, to take on Missouri Western State University.

Volleyball

The volleyball team continued their success. They beat Lindenwood University and No. 13 ranked, University of Central Missouri. Both games were a mirror image of each other. The Ichabods started strong by winning the first set, lost the second set, and finished out with two more wins. The Ichabods have won 17 consecutive games and remain undefeated. They will look to sustain that streak against the University of Central Oklahoma on Friday and Pittsburg State University on Saturday.

Soccer

The soccer team had an up and down week. They beat Fort Hays State 3-1, but they then lost to the University of Nebraska-Kearney 1-2. The team will try to get back on track against Northwest Missouri State University and Missouri Western State University. Both of those games are on the road and will be played on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Tennis

The tennis teams will compete in the ITA Central Regional from Sept. 28-30. The tournament will be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
