Run, run, run: Sophomore David Kibet runs on his way to finishing fifth in the four-mile race.

The Washburn Ichabods took home third place out of 17 teams at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic in Hutchinson after being placed seventh in the preseason coaches poll.

The team finished with a score of 118, leaving them 16 points behind second place.

David Kibet came in fifth place, scoring 4 points for the team with a time of 20:45.5. Gabriel Chinya finished at 13, scoring 12 points with a time of 21:30.4. Scoring 23 points, in 24th place, Keetan Munsell finished with a time of 22:15.5. Rounding out the scoring for Washburn was Sam Steinlicht and Cooper Giffin who finished back to back at 42 and 43 with times of 23:01.3 and 23:02.6 respectively, earning 39 and 40 points for the team.

Next the Ichabods will travel to Joplin, MO for the Missouri Southern Stampede on Sept.18.
