Event Preview: Topeka Science Cafe

This Tuesday, Dec. 11, the Topeka Science Cafe will host Dr. Rex Buchanan for an evening of educational fun.

Buchanan is the director of Emeritus of the Kansas Geological Survey. The Kansas Geological survey is a research and service division of the University of Kansas and studies and provides information on the geologic resources of Kansas.

At the Topeka Science Cafe, Buchanan will be discussing “Kansas Seismicity: Events and Responses.” Seismicity is the occurrence or frequency of earthquakes in a region. He will be presenting on this topic in relevance to Kansas.

The science cafe will be an informal and public discussion of a science topic that is lead by an expert of enthusiast in a casual setting. The science cafe meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, apart from the summer.

The Topeka Science Cafe will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.11. at Perkins Restaurant. Come early to order food and drinks.
