It’s a cold stretch in the capital city. Washburn University will conduct its classes online Monday, Feb. 15.

Topeka’s dangerously cold arctic temperatures continued this weekend and both Washburn University and Topeka 501 school district has opted for virtual learning to keep everyone safe.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that is going anywhere anytime soon. Friday’s high was 8 degrees, Saturday’s high was 7 degrees and Sunday’s high is 1 degree. The wind chills for this weekend and early week call for concern for anyone who is going to be outside as frostbite and hypothermia are legitimate concerns.
