Whiting field house will be open every Saturday afternoon from 1:00-4:00 p.m. for all Washburn students.

The announcement was made recently by Richard M. Godlove, director of Athletics.

The decision was made after various Washburn students suggested that the basketball floor be made available for week-end practice.

Godlove said he is interested in promoting the program which will give the students more of a chance to prepare for intramurals and enable the students to have week-end access to one of the most popular buildings on campus.

Continuation and success of the program will depend on the respect shown the field house facilities and the attitudes expressed concerning the program, according to Godlove. Anyone even stepping on the basketball floor must be wearing tennis shoes, he said.
