Summer art fair returning to Washburn

The 16th annual Mulvane Mountain/Plains Art Fair will be held June 7 and 8 at Washburn University near Whiting Field House, 18th St. and Washburn Ave.

Almost 100 artists from across the country will display their artwork, including paintings, drawings, prints, photography and jewelry. The fair will also feature bluegrass, jazz and folk musicians, hands-on children’s activities and a food and beverage court.

The fair is the annual fundraising event for the Mulvane Art Museum. It is hosted by the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum. Major sponsors are Washburn University, The Topeka Capital Journal, Kansas Secured Title, Bartlett & West Engineers Inc., Security Benefit Group of Companies, Capitol Federal Savings and Jones Huyett Partners.

Fair hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 7 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 8. Tickets are $6, available at the gate. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted for free. Coupons for $1 off on tickets can be downloaded at www.cjonline.com or www.washburn.edu/mulvane.
