Zeta Tau Alpha philanthropy event delayed because of winter weather

Run for a Reason, scheduled for this past Saturday, has been postponed until April 25 because of snow and cold temperatures. Jane Billinger, who is the service chair of Zeta Tau Alpha, the sorority organizing the event, just saw the event to be a risk if it were held Saturday.

“We didn’t want to risk participants getting hurt on the way there,” said Billinger. “Plus we feel that people will be more likely to turn out when the weather is warming. Basically, running and snow don’t mix that well.”

Other than the change of the date, the other aspects of the event will remain the same. Registration will be offered through April up to the time of the event, and participants will still receive a free complimentary breakfast on the day of the run. T-shirts for the event and a gift bag with coupons to area businesses will also be distributed. Registration will still start at 8 a.m., the run will start at 9 a.m.
