TOPEKA – Four Washburn University students captured the honors in oral and poster research presentations at the recent meeting of the Kansas Academy of Science at Washburn. Winners were: Sean Armstrong, Topeka, second place, oral presentation, “Borane Reduction of Nitriles.” Scott Ashley, Topeka, third place, poster presentation, “2D Electrophoresis of Ragweed Pollen Proteins.” Jacqueline Peda, Overland Park, third place, oral presentation, “Characterization of Magnesium Transporters in B. subtilis. Andrea Walters, Topeka, first place, oral presentation, “Benzylic Oxidation of Pyrroles.”
