Campus Ministry House Renovations

Washburn University’s Campus Ministry is currently undergoing extensive remodeling and it is almost time for the project to be unveiled.

“Isn’t this the coolest thing ever? Of course we want to have furniture here but I think this is the best part of the house. You can see it early Fall – late Spring.”

Reverend Eduardo Bassoun, Pastor for Campus Ministry showed me a couple of the designs they planned on having in the house.

“Its not really pretty right now…I just thought that you wanted to know.”
“We want to cut a door here, so we will have more access.”

Bassoun is very excited for the remodeling that is going on.

“This is my office, this is so cool, you need to see this.”
“Really old, mostly original. We want to preserve the coolness of this space.”

Bassoun explained why ERC chose the Campus Ministry House for a Designer Showcase.

“They wanted to go green, they felt like in their 30th year it would be a really cool thing to not just do another home but to do a home of a non-profit organization.”

The Campus Ministry house will serve all students of all denominations and walks of life as a place to relax and get away from the stresses of life.
I asked Reverend Bassoun how to find more information on Washburn University’s Campus Ministry.

“Sometimes there are days that come by and you look up to the Heavens and say Oh Lord please help. And there are some days that we feel vulnerable in those ways. So if we have a house that is open to all students f all faiths to come and chill and refresh their spirit, that is really what we want to accomplish.”

I asked Reverend Bassoun how to find more information on Washburn University’s Campus Ministry.

“Check our website, very simple, wucampusministry.org”
