VIDEO: World renowned surgeon visits campus

Dr. W. Hardy Hendren, a world-renowned pediatric surgeon, visited Washburn University last week to present lectures on medical history and his World War II training and experiences.

Hendren attended Washburn University for three semesters while training as a naval aviator. After receiving his wings, he went on to specialize in pediatric surgery.

Hendren’s lectures were sponsored by the Washburn departments of biology, chemistry & history, the College of Arts & Sciences, the Mabee Library and the Kansas Medical Education Foundation.
