Officers, board members named by Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum, Inc.

A slate of new officers and board members have been named by the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum, Inc. for fiscal year 2011-12.

Officers elected are:  president, Mark Boranyak, community volunteer; vice president/president elect, Laurie Niehaus, private banking specialist, Capital City bank; treasurer, Chris Schultz, president/CEO, Schultz Development, LLC; recording secretary, Sarah Carkuff Fizell, owner, post Rock PR; corresponding secretary, Katy Franklin, community volunteer; immediate past president, David Heit, architect, Schwerdt Design Group.

New board members are Rio Cervantes-Reed, marketing specialist, seveneightfive designs; Becky Greer, curriculum director, USD 450; and Jeanie Schuler, director, customer service, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas.

Current board members are:  Cindy Adams, director of recruitment, Stormont Vail Hospital; Harold Benoit, community volunteer; Dan Billen, graphic artist, jones huyett Partners; Meg Braun, coordinator of school psychology, Topeka Public Schools; Jeanne Cohorst, president, Mulvane Women’s Board; Mark Dechand, sales associate, Zales Jewelry; Jim Ogle, general manager, WIBW-TV; and Lynda Miller, art instructor, Washburn; Carrie Riordan, managing director, member programs, Golf Course Superintendent association of America; Olivia Simmons, president/CEO Visit Topeka Inc.; and Robin Wolgast, community volunteer.

Honorary members are Jeanne Bertelson, Carol Jory, Richard Ross, Judith Sabatini , Joe Scranton and Elizabeth Wunder.

The mission of the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum, Inc. is to support the Mulvane Art Museum at Washburn University to encourage art in everyday life.
