VIDEO: Lady Blues win against Bulldogs

On Friday, Washburn Volleyball continued to fight off MIAA opponents, taking on the 24th ranked Truman Bulldogs. 

The Lady Blues were able to beat the Bulldogs in set one with a 25-19. Match two was a nail-biter with 8 ties in the game.  However, the Bulldogs were only able to break the tie just once.  Both teams went back and forth until the score was tallied at 24-23.  The Lady Blues sensing a victory could be in reach, threw down two kills for the 26-24 win.  Washburn took an early lead in the third set allowed them to prevail over Truman 25-16.

Kills were not a problem for the Blues as Fey led the way with eleven, followed by Hughes with ten.  Hughes also ended up with a double-double on the night by gathering up fourteen digs. Wittman had nineteen assists on the night and Amanda Guess followed behind with fifteen.  The Bulldogs were able to obstruct Washburn out of the game, leading 8-3 in blocks.
